COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) AND EMPLOYEES’ LEGAL RIGHTS.
Updated 20th March 2020
We have had a large number of enquiries, especially from airline employees, faced with redundancy or restriction in their working practice. This also applies to employees from other industries.
All employees have significant rights under UK law and should be able to rely on their contract of employment to protect them. However, it is essential you come to the best settlement agreement possible and, particularly the case when faced with redundancy, there may be issues of unfair dismissal or constructive dismissal.
In the vast majority of cases, if there is a dispute, the employer is obliged to meet any legal bills incurred.
If, due to Covid-19, or for any other reason, you are faced with your employer wanting to dismiss you or vary your contract of employment, we recommend you speak to a lawyer before you make or sign any settlement agreement.
To meet the upsurge in enquiries with regard to these issues, Mancini Legal is extending its hours for online consultation over Zoom or Skype until 10.00 pm in the evening. We are already helping dozens of people protect their position in these troubled times. We are here to help you.
